Administrative and Leadership Coaching
Ongoing administrator coaching keeps the school focused on the linguistic and academic needs of English learners. This service promotes strategic collaboration regarding the development and focus of site initiatives that align with the district's goals around EL achievement. These sessions include coaching conversations, classroom observations, data analysis, and reflection through the lens of an instructional leader. Instructional Coaching
Job-embedded coaching that provides support for teachers of multilingual and English learner students. This support may include any of the following:
Instructional observation, lesson feedback, and reflective conversations regarding effective practices and site initiatives.
Pre-conferencing, observing, and post-conferencing to encourage teacher reflection and self-efficacy.
Student data analysis to strategically plan for instructional needs.
Planning and pacing instructional materials to maximize instructional impact.
Modeling or co-teaching instructional practices that support academic growth for students with diverse linguistic needs.
Instructional rounds, lesson studies, and peer observations to facilitate collaboration, build coherence, and reflect on the impact of instructional strategies.
Professional Learning
Individually tailored in-person or virtual sessions designed to encourage research-based instruction that supports English Learners. These sessions can be for a small group, an entire school staff, a group of school sites, or an entire district. Administrative leaders are strongly encouraged to attend and participate in these sessions to support instructional implementation.
We collaborate to develop content aligned with district or site initiatives and can suggest a variety of topics currently facing educators such as:
Differentiating instruction for EL typologies: newcomers, Long-term English learners, students with limited or interrupted formal education (SLIFE), students dually identified as EL and SPED, and ELs with literacy needs.
Structured literacy for multilingual students and English learners developing literacy skills.
Developing meaningful academic discourse in all content areas.
Implementing structures, strategies, and scaffolds to maximize learning.
Systems Coaching
This service focuses on the district plans, financial resources, and district compliance requirements related to English learners. Within this type of support, we share our decades of knowledge and experience in supporting English learners.
